Web 2.2 Release Party - Headliner Update

Well, the unconference thing is all about the conversations but the party is something much more - its about drunk conversations (jk) (partially). For me, parties are often as much about the music as well as the food and friends, which is why we are so excited to have some of our favorite music at this party on November 9 at the Fluid Ultra Lounge. In addition to a great DJ in Anthony Grant, we are going to be graced by the Musical Entrepreneur himself, BuzzLogic CEO Rob Crumpler and his Dave Matthews cover band called Mostly Dave. [I advise BuzzLogic and they are a sponsor, but I invited them to play because they are good and I thought it would be cool to have one of us Web folks playing]

The real reason for inviting them is that Kristie and I love DMB’s music - in addition to seeing around 6 shows together since we met, we even went camping a couple of years ago and saw him play at the Gorge Ampitheatre outside of Seattle. We hope you like their music too - IMHO Dave’s music is a great blend of jazz improvisation, alternative, jam band and rock. Rob talks a bit more personally about how he got into playing and his thoughts around the music in this great blog post about playing the Web 2.2 Release party.

My best friend Scott Becker has been working hard at learning the guitar and playing some shows too. He even has a voice coach and was playing up until a couple of weeks ago when work got too much. I am so proud of him for taking such a huge risk and making such an important personal dream come true. I wish I had some rhythm and could play an instrument - perhaps I will find a way to learn one day. Until then it looks like my creative outlet will be writing, photographs, poetry and the occasional piece of graphic design work. Everyone should find a creative outlet whether you are an accountant, a teacher, a blogger or even a programmer - as Matt Mullenweng reminded me tonight, WordPress developers have united around the phrase ‘Code is Poetry’.

So in addition to some great insights from some great people, by attending Web 2point2 you also get into the Web 2.2 Release party for some good times, some free drinks and some great music.

I have just learned tonight that Mostly Dave is unable to play - will put the update online tomorrow. This means we will have one of the best local DJ’s in San Francisco spinning for us all night!

i know it is short notice but if you need a cover band i might be able to convince my husband to do it. he plays in multiple bands. doesn’t do Dave Mathews- but covers from the likes of the Stones, Dead, Dylan, etc. rockin’ stuff. drop me a line .(of course i haven’t asked him which could mean trouble for me ;-)

Hello! Good Site! Thanks you! vatftjoewjx

I have never been much in favour of online shopping. The idea that the ancient physical delight of strolling the marketplace or bazaar and taking in its sights and smells might one day be replaced by clicking and dragging from a desktop is one I have always found more repugnant than convenient. But that was before I found out aboutWhat is Etsy? If you ask its founder, 27 year old Brooklyn based Rob Kalin, Etsy is “a childhood word from a Fellini movie” that he chose because “it embodies the curiosity of imagination” (the naughty Kalin has also playfully told the press that Etsy comes…http://bestnews-4u.com/
