Ummm, Web 2.2 is a snarky joke peeps…

Just a quick note that the header of the Web 2point2 site is meant as a joke.  We don’t really believe there are versions of the Web, so we thought we would point that out rather obliquely.  Turns out not everyone got that (they probably won’t like the t-shirts either).  While it may be a convenient short hand for people in the know, too many people who don’t ‘get it’ are misusing it and abusing it and that is the problem with Buzzwords as I pointed out in this article back in 2001.

Hmm. Clueless here … citation?

Sorry was not more clear - trying to be brief and explain long stories does not work always. Someone who will go nameless emailed me with a less than clued in comment on Web 2.2 being superfluous when Web 2.0 was not yet adopted widely enough. They also said something to the effect that there was no need to upgrade from Web 2.0 and was dismayed that I would be ‘cconfusing the public’ by focusing on the better, faster, cheaper sales pitch on Web 2.2

FYI: The promo posted at promos.podshow.com for web2point2 is now playing on Show #56 of theEd’s Mixed Bag podcast at timecode 15:06

Maybe it is difficult to pinpoint what internet interaction is exactly, because it is something entirely new, without precedent in human interaction.
